Draft policy for Prawn Star to review before launch.

Prawn Star cooks every order at its Vause Road kitchen or at the pop-up stand. You can have it delivered, collect it from the kitchen, or order ahead for collection at a pop-up.

1. Where we deliver and what it costs

• Up to 3 km (R30): Musgrave, Berea, Bulwer, Essenwood, Morningside, Glenwood, Greyville, Windermere, Stamford Hill, Davenport
• 3 to 6 km (R45): Durban Central, Overport, Sydenham, Puntans Hill, Umbilo, Carrington Heights, Sherwood, Mayville, Cato Manor, Umgeni Park, Beachfront
• 6 to 10 km (R65): Durban North, Westville, Reservoir Hills, Sea View, Bellair, Springfield, Clare Estate, Asherville, Glenmore, Point Waterfront

The minimum order for delivery is R150.

2. Delivery times

Most orders arrive in 45 to 60 minutes during trading hours. At busy times, in bad weather or for large orders it can take longer; we will let you know if your order is running late. You can also choose a later time at checkout.

3. At the door

Please give a correct address, complex or gate code and a phone number the driver can reach. If the driver cannot reach you after 10 minutes, the order returns to the kitchen and may still be charged.

Collecting at Vause Road

Collection orders are usually ready in 20 to 30 minutes, or at the time you chose. Give your order number at the counter. We keep orders for 30 minutes after the chosen time.

Ordering for a pop-up

Pop-up orders are collected at the Prawn Star stand at the time slot you chose. Each slot takes a limited number of orders so food comes off the grill on time. Bring your order number (on screen is fine). Orders not collected within 30 minutes of the slot may be sold, and pop-up orders cannot be delivered.

If a pop-up is cancelled because of weather or the venue, we contact everyone who ordered and refund any payment made online.
